Feminist Foreign Policy: A research agenda

On December 15th at 4:00 pm in the Department of Political and Social Sciences, room XXI marzo, there will be a seminar of the Jean Monnet Chair Challenges to Democracy and Representation in the EU (EuDARe) coordinated by Prof. Marcello Carammia.

Prof. Laura Chaqués Bonafont, of Universitat de Barcelona and director of the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) will discuss “Feminist Foreign Policy: A research agenda”.

Laura Chaqués Bonafont is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Barcelona and, since 2024, Director of the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI). With a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s from the New School for Social Research in New York, she is recognized for her contributions to the fields of political agenda-setting, public policy, and the quality of democracy. As head of the Quality of Democracy research group (Q-Dem), she has led extensive studies on the interactions between government, parliamentary, and media agendas across issues and levels of governance. Her work has been published in prominent journals, including Comparative Political Studies and The British Journal of Political Science. She has also received multiple honors, such as the ICREA Academia award, for her research excellence.
