On December 13th at 4:00 pm in the Department of Political and Social Sciences, room XXI marzo, there will be a seminar of the Jean Monnet Chair Challenges to Democracy and Representation in the EU (EuDARe) coordinated by Prof. Marcello Carammia.
Prof. Mario Savino, of Università della Tuscia will discuss “The New EU Pact on migration and the regulation of mobility in the Euro-Mediterranean area: the Italy-Albania Protocol as a model?”.
Mario Savino is a Full Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Tuscia, where he has held several prominent roles, including Director of the Law Degree Program and Coordinator of the Ph.D. Program in European Law and Global Markets. He currently serves as President of the University Research Commission and as Delegate for relations with the UNHCR, supporting the University Corridors for Refugees (UNICORE) initiative.
Founder and coordinator of the Academy of Law and Migration (ADiM), the leading Italian network on migration with over 500 affiliates, Savino also leads the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “IntoME” on Migrant Integration in Europe. He has held prestigious international academic positions, such as at New York University and the Max Planck Institute, and has authored numerous studies on immigration, citizenship, administrative law, and transparency. Among his recent works, he co-edited volumes on the economic integration of migrants in Italy and European migration policy.
The 13 December at 4.00 PM, at Palazzo Pedagaggi, he will present a seminar at the University of Catania, where he will share his insights on migration, law and European integration, focused on the migration agreements between Italy and Albania. On this occasion, he will delve into the dynamics of cooperation between the two countries, analyzing the legal and administrative tools adopted for managing migration flows and migrant integration.
